If the shoe fits
If you are a Cinderella fan, or even if not, the glass slipper is iconic and meaningful, especially when it comes time to marry your fairytale prince!
Our Wedding Planner, Sara, told us about the optional enhancement of a glass slipper filled with sorbet as our intermezzo instead of just a regular cup. It sounded awesome of course but the price tag is certainly hefty.
Elegantly described on the A La Carte menu pricing as:
Illuminated Ice Carving of Cinderella’s Glass Slipper filled with Market Inspired Sorbet. Your choice of Red, Blue, Green or White Lights.
Sara told us the banquet staff will usually coordinate with the DJ and dim the lights and enter all together to deliver the glass slipper to each guest.
Cinderella is my favorite Disney Princess, though I’m a brunette. We were already going for the Cinderella’s Coach transportation and had the carriage symbol on our place cards. Why not make it even more fairytale themed with an ice glass slipper? That was certainly my dad’s opinion at least (and I’m so grateful for him!!). We decided to go for this splurge add-on and we are so glad we did. It was worth every penny.
To match our theme we had the royal blue lights used in our ice slippers and chose raspberry champagne sorbet. We had the DJ play ‘Be Our Guest’ for the entrance of the servers and were able to watch our guests shock from our elevated sweetheart table.
This was certainly a WOW moment at our wedding and one I think our guests will never forget. There were so many pictures taken and shared of the illuminated glass slippers – maybe even more so than other big moments throughout our wedding day.
If you’re looking for something to bring the extra special fairytale touch to your Disney Wedding I would highly recommend squeezing the slippers into your budget. They are beautiful, awe-inspiring, and magical all at once!
